Welcome 2010

We brought in the New Year visiting in Colorado Springs with grandson #12, Conner Alexander Widhalm and parents - Jennifer (Bob's daughter) and husband Justin.

Here's Conner with his new backhoe from us. We were able to bring out all the Christmas gifts from everyone in Nebraska and Conner had a blast opening all the gifts.

Conner and his daddy opening one of the many gifts. Justin is competing in the Paralympic Games this year - cycling and shooting. He is also doing a lot of nordic skiing with his training.

While in Colorado Springs, we went to Mount Saint Francis a monestary/retreat and retirement center. It was so beautiful there and there were deer everywhere on the grounds.

Two of the reasons we visit Mount St. Francis - Sister Bernice Preister and Sister Margaret Preister who live in the assisted living area. They were so surprised to see us and we enjoyed having Saturday soup and visiting with them. Sister Bernice used to do the job that I now do at Humphrey St. Francis...but no one did it better than she...what a blessing she is!!

We also had dinner and visited with my sister, Sheila and her husband Tony who live in Castle Rock. I had hoped to see my brother, Bill and wife, Pam from Aurora, too...but it didn't work out.
The trip was brief, but it was good to get away for a while and out of the frigid Nebraska cold! When we got back we were hit by another blizzard and sub-zero temperatures. I have a feeling it is going to be a very long, cold winter!
